Exactly! I'm currently involved in an email exchange with Buckinghamshire Council about their ridiculous Net Zero policy. They are trying to bat away my questions with points like:
"Regarding your second point around our own plans to reduce the council’s carbon emissions, our Climate Change and Air Quality Strategy is aligned with current UK legislation (Climate Change Act 2008), which legislates both a Net Zero carbon target (section 1) and the calculation and use of carbon budgets (section 4). "
I replied asking how the farmers in the county felt about there being no beef and lamb production after 2030 (according to the Cambridge FIRES report commissioned by the government asking how Net Zero was to be achieved). They promised me a reply, but they've now gone quiet. Think I'll send them this article with a chaser email.
Well done Bettina, the problem with the faceless bureaucracies like Buckinghamshire Council is that they are just following orders. There's no independent thought. it's al trickle down as fact from above, opinion and views from below (us) are not considered valid. But keep it up!

Cattle farmers in Oz slaughtered large portions of their herd last year, because the weather bureau forecast a hot and dry summer - amplified by the media into a another dire climate catastrophe. Prices dropped to $650 a head, from $1300 in two weeks. Instead, Oz has had above average rainfall and a very wet summer. Farmers are mightily or rightfully pissed off. Even on the apple weather app, a 30 degree day is cast red with the notation "Extreme heat". More brain washing.
It is becoming more blatant with the current difficulties Boeing are facing. Failures of quality are showing up with possible bad consequences and people are falling over the intricacies of processes looking for when certain steps weren’t followed.
But is anyone standing back and looking at the underlying premise that you can only do such inspections and tests because you have a robust quality process ethos? Even if you failed to follow it you know in principle how precise source measurements are and when modelling is used how tightly the uncertainties are kept.
But try that with climate data. The source temperatures have systematic errors of at least 1 degree C at best. The Met Office even state this in their papers. So they assume all errors are random and then push out a purely hypothetical temperature are real. For real world consequences.
Take a minute. Think about Boeing and what’s being asked of them as a minimum.
Now look at climate science again and see if they are the same picture.
