The UK justification for Net Zero - the regressive and authoritarian collective regime that demands the unhampered industrialisation of the countryside, higher energy bills and unreliable energy - revolves around higher temperatures recorded by the UK Meteorological office. You’d expect, as the common people do, trustworthy data to back up severe interventions such as halting drilling our own oil and gas, forcing a population to buy useless electric cars and encouraging ineffective heat pumps.

Instead it’s been found that a third of U.K. Met Office temperature stations may be wrong by up to 5°C, as increasing urbanisation has encroached upon the reading stations and corrupted measurements with artificial heat. Yes, those temperatures frequently reported with barely concealed glee and terror by the ‘news’, might be not just wrong, but wildly so.

According to the the World Meteorological Organisation, a Class 5 temperature station is one where nearby obstacles “create an inappropriate environment for a meteorological measurement that is intended to be representative of a wide area”. Nearly one in three (29.2%) Met Office sites are Class 5, yet, like unreliable covid tests, are cited as proof of global warming and instrumental in justifying the national implementation of deep draconian measures on a hood-winked population.

The World Meteorological Office rates temperature stations from pristine class 1 and near pristine class 2, to an ‘anything goes’ or ‘junk’ class 5.

Met Office sites have been identified as having estimated uncertainties of up to 5C°. Only 13.7% of their sites are classified class 1 or 2 and free of ‘uncertainties’ warnings. It was investigative journalist Paul Homewood who sought a freedom of request information from the Met Office about the Welsh weather station Porthmadog who exposed this. Often appearing in ‘hottest of the day’ listings Porthmadog is a pin-up, the Duran Duran in 1983, of temperature measuring sites, yet Paul Homewood was informed that the site is listed as class 4. Basing Net Zero policy on such compromised temperature readings is like securing a builder based upon a referral from a man in the pub; the one who reviews his belief that foundations are overrated when your house extension subsides.

The UK Met Office’s persistent promotion of the collectivist Net Zero project has in some quarters - such as the non-partisan ‘we promise’ BBC and the pearl-clutching Guardian newspaper - become the unquestionable, settled science in the same way that religion and the flat earth once were, yet it’s based upon what is often junk data. The Met Office temperature readings are deeply unreliable. One site is alongside the runway at RAF Coningsby (class 3), where a highest temperature record coincided with the take-off of three typhoon fighter jets, meanwhile another station is close to one of the largest tropical greenhouses in the world at Kew Gardens in west London.

A heavily promoted, U.K. record was set on July 31st 2019 at the Cambridge Botanic Gardens, a class 5 site, but was beaten when the Met Office declared a warmest St. Valentine’s record this year of 11.5°C at the class 4-rated St. Mary’s airport on the Isles of Scilly. It’s these stats that are rolled out by politicians, Just Stop Oil, and newspapers with the unquestioning enthusiasm of 10-year olds crowing about their football team’s winning performances. Those other (class 5) sites at Northolt airport, or St James’s Park, will have to pull their fingers out before Heathrow (class 4) find themselves as pin-up of the month.

With over 50% of the world’s network of land-based thermometers situated at airports, receiving regular blasts of hot jet engine exhaust, how much of recent ‘global warming’ reflects an increase in air travel, and the urban heat island effect? And most intriguingly, why is this not being celebrated in the mainstream press as good news to offset the calamitous narrative?

Anyone with a smart phone will know the accuracy of Met office weather reporting has the precision of a custard pie at 20 yards. They apparently pluck weather icons from where their storage cabinet was opened in a substantial wind. Yet, with rises in temperature of as little as 0.01°C catastrophised in the MSM, these measurements are important, They are the stats that drive the most brutal, hasty and comprehensive changes to the way we live in the history of mankind, at least since the covid lockdowns. These statistics are as crucial as millimetres and a steady hand in eye surgery. Without this hysterical temperature ammunition the Net Zero project is unjustifiable, not that it'll stop the Labour / Conservative Uniparty from pursuing what is often nothing more than hot air that isn’t quite as hot as it is claiming to be.
