Couldnt agree more.... the west country is full of ghastly panels that stretch miles... it's so disheartening. Again a case of the ill informed going along with the narrative

It’s a deliberate destruction of all that is good by demonic forces .

A nice mockery of Labour’s oppressions, with the final sentence tentatively suggesting that Net Zero is deliberately destructive. I’ve been making the point for some time that it most definitely is deliberate and I’m pleased to see that David Turver is like-minded in his latest post: https://davidturver.substack.com/p/hello-darkness-my-old-friend.

Millibrain hasn't a hope of achieving 2030 net zero grid operation however much of our money he throws at it. The supply chain from windmill manufacturing to heavy lift vessels just isn't upto it. They know that which is why they jacked up the AR6 prices significantly to try and seduce the developers back into the mkt after the AR5 no shows. Oh and at todays cost of £102/MWh its already well beyond todays gas price. Oh and the worst of is this wont generate any extra jobs in the UK most of the high value kit comes from Europe. All the heavy lift vessels are overseas owned most of steelwork is fabricated elsewhere so the only green jobs bonanza lies in other countries not UK. Yes we have more windmills than anyone else but after 20yrs of erecting them we've made no progress in pushing up local levels of manufacturing commensurate with how much we've chucked at it.

As you say the green jobs will be elsewhere, in the same way that co2 emissions are exported to iangsu, Guangdong, Shandong, Shanghai and Zhejiang provinces in China

I'm angry.... that's the only comment I can make. I detest keir stalin and his pompous self righteousness. It's blatantly obvious now, especially after his comments regarding the rioting, that he's going full on Stalin level commie but with a digital arsenal to assist him.

As an American, who has not been to Merry Olde in a number of years, I remain confused by the idea that solar power is seen as a viable energy source in a nation where it rains at least as often as it doesn't. add that to the fact that night comes daily, and through the winter is exceptionally long, at least from the perspective of this New Yorker, and hasn't anyone there figured out that whatever numbers they claim as capacity are going to be significantly overstated? It's not that we don't have similar idiocy on this side of the Atlantic, but the UK remains special for its consistency of rainy days.

It certainly does. If only we could generate power from our optimism in always wearing the slightly wrong clothes for the weather we'd be in clover.

It’s expensive, destabilising and futile virtue-signalling. From 2020 to 2023, China’s CO2 emissions increased by 7890 million tons and the UK’s fell by 239m tons. Check out Robert Bryce’s Substack post ‘Numbers Don’t Lie’ for astonishing statistics drawn from the Statistical Review of World Energy. And Ed Miliband? As my builder friend Eric used to say of the inept: “he couldn’t piss and whistle at the same time”.

I wish Milliband was as incompetent. In fact he's an ideologue and a man now declaring war upon the UK. As you say, this is wilful disabling of the UK, to make it uncompetitive and ugly. Virtue points on a fabricated value system are worthless.
